How to prepare Onion Water to water the Plants
To keep our plants healthy, we not only need to place them in a good place, with enough light and watering, but we also need to supply them with a good fertilizer.
Of course, there is a wide variety of fertilizers , but when it comes to saving money, we can prepare at home the one that we like the most and meets the objective.
Next, we show you an effective, practical, ecological and cheap technique that we will carry out with onion skins.
You need:
- onion skins
- 1 liter of water
- Plastic bottle
- Filter or Strainer
Procedure:
- As a first step, you should gather the onion skins until you fill a medium bucket.
- Once full, with scissors or with your hands you must crush them until they are of a smaller size.
- You will proceed to place them inside the plastic bottle and cut it to a height of 3/4.
- Once the filling is complete, pour the liter of wate.
- The number of shells that we put is for reference, since if you put more or less, the effect will be the same.
- Once step 4 is completed, proceed to cap the bottle. You will do it with the part that you have cut from the bottle or simply with any container that covers it.
- Let the mixture rest outside for 24 hours .
- After this time, you will proceed to strain the mixture. You can use a cloth that serves as a filter or simply a strainer.
- Now, if you already have the best fertilizer for all types of plants, including outdoor and indoor.
- This solution will serve you for use for up to 2 weeks. After this time you should throw away and make a new mixture.
- When you don’t use it, store it in the fridge.
- It waters all kinds of large or small plants, in bloom or not, indoors or outdoors, it is the same and effective.
- Do this procedure at least every 20 days.

Light
In order for every plant to carry out its photosynthesis process, it will invariably need light. Without the light that each of them requires, your plant will inevitably die. As data we tell you that in general plants that have large leaves do not need as much light , since they have a greater amount of chlorophyll that they need for photosynthesis.
Substrate
The texture of the soil where they live is essential. The ideal ones are those that have aeration qualities to retain water. These will be the most fertile land. There are also clay soils that are more compact, and therefore are much more prone to waterlogging. Finally, there are the sandy ones, these do not retain water but they do not retain nutrients either.
Water
The water in the plants not only serves for their subsistence, but it is the great carrier of minerals. The plant, through its roots, will take the water from the ground and the minerals that together will generate the transpiration process, a process that makes the sap rise throughout the plant, essential food for all plants.
