How to Whiten Clothes, Remove Bad Odor and Pet Hair Using Vinegar
Vinegar is a common product, which is present in all homes. In general, we use it in the kitchen, but it is not only used to dress salads, but also has beneficial effects in cleaning textiles and the home.

Its main ingredient is acetic acid, which has antiseptic and disinfectant properties, and dissolves organic-type grease.
Vinegar removes stains from clothing and returns it to its original whiteness, helps remove pet hair from fabrics, and removes bad odors from the environment. All in a natural and environmentally friendly way.
- Whiten the clothes

Washing with detergent only dulls white clothes and doesn’t fight tough stains, such as those found under the armpits or on the neck. It is true that you can use chemical bleaches, but these could cause allergies and skin irritation. The advantage of using vinegar as a bleach is that it does not have chemical components, it is effective in leaving your clothes looking like new and it also disinfects the garments.
Another option is to have a bottle filled with undiluted vinegar. Spray the garments in the areas where the difficult stains are found and let it act for 10 minutes before putting them in the washing machine.
Pour 4 liters of water and 1/4 liter of vinegar in a large pot. Heat the pot until it comes to a boil.
Remove the pot from the heat and submerge the white clothes. You have to let it soak overnight.
Wash clothes as usual and add 1/4 liter of vinegar to the washing machine.
Hang your clothes in the sun. This will also help whiten your clothes.
- Remove hair from your pet

Before doing a wash, shake the clothes so that as many hairs as possible fall out. Also, you can pass a clean kitchen sponge, on the green side, which is the most abrasive, rub the garment.
Then put the clothes to wash and add 1/4 liter of vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser for the rinse cycle. You can use alcohol or apple cider vinegar. Acetic acid works as a fabric softener, it makes the fibers relax and the hairs come off easily.
At the end of the wash I suggest you run an empty wash cycle, and then wipe down the inside of the washer with a damp cloth to remove any hair stuck to the walls.
- Bad odors

To remove bad odors from fabrics, you can use a solution of 1 cup of vinegar in a bucket of water. Put the clothes in and let them soak for 30 minutes. Take out the clothes and wash them as usual.
For sports garments, which have more intensive use and are more in contact with sweat, I suggest adding vinegar every time you wash. The vinegar neutralizes the stench.
