Creamy Potatoes: A garnish to accompany your dishes

If you ‘re tired of the same garrisons, you can try something different: a rich creamed potatoes to accompany any main course you have thought.

The good thing about these potatoes is that they are easy to prepare with few ingredients that you can change to your liking.

For this recipe you need a container with high walls to prevent the cream from spilling.

Ingredients:

2 large or 3 medium potatoes
1 clove garlic
1/2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp cream cheese
1/2 cup of milk
Grated cheese to taste
Salt and black pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. To start, wash and peel the potatoes well. Then we cut them into slices of about half a centimeter (it is important that they are all the same thickness, for a more even cooking).
  2. Once cut, we look for the container that we are going to use for cooking. We grease it well with the butter and on top we rub with a garlic (skinless and cut in half to give it an extra flavor).
  3. We put the potatoes and try to arrange them, in such a way that the edges overlap a little. When you have no more potatoes to put, we reserve it for a moment.
  4. In a bowl add the milk, heavy cream, cream cheese, salt and pepper. We simply whisk vigorously until we have a homogeneous liquid mixture.
  5. We put all the mixture on the potatoes, and on top we sprinkle the grated cheese. We take the container to a preheated oven at 180º C for approximately 30 minutes.
  6. Sometimes you can vary the cooking time. To know when it’s done, just check that they are well browned on top and bottom, and then poke them to see if they are soft.
  7. Once ready, remove them from the oven and serve quickly with the main dish. Approximately this amount is for 2 people, you can make more simply by adding more ingredients.
  8. You can give this recipe a different flavor, just swapping 1 potato for 1 sweet potato. You just have to do the same procedure as you would with the potatoes, always remembering to cut them the same thickness. Also, you can sprinkle a little sweet paprika, this will give it a sweet touch and a deep red color (ideal for decorating).
