If the last time you used your iron it left your clothes with dark stains, they probably need cleaning. Acetaminophen and other home tricks can help you make it look like new.
All appliances need maintenance, that’s why cleaning experts share some tips to remove burns from your iron.
How to clean an iron and remove the burned?
In some cases it will be necessary for your iron to be on, so be very careful not to burn yourself.
The following tricks require material that you probably already have in your home, so it will only take a few minutes to get your iron as new, so it no longer stains your clothes.
- Baking soda
Baking soda is essential in any home, as it has several uses: removing bad odors from the refrigerator, cleaning tiles, etc. In the case of your iron, it is excellent for removing dark stains.
You only need to mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of water to create a cleaning paste. Rub the base of your iron gently, avoiding clogging the steam vents. Finally, remove all the residue from the paste with a damp towel.
- White vinegar
White vinegar helps remove bacteria and dirt from various appliances. Home cleaning experts point out that you only need to wet a cloth with white vinegar and place it on the base of your iron. Wait 30 minutes, remove the cloth and wipe the residue with another clean cloth.
You can repeat this process every 6 months or when you start to see black spots on the base of your iron.
- Paracetamol
In this case, you will need your iron to be on, so you must be especially careful. Set the regulator to maximum, take 1 paracetamol tablet (you can hold it with tweezers, so as not to burn yourself), and rub it on the burned areas, you will see that little by little the stain will disappear.
At the end you just have to turn off the iron and remove the dirt with a cloth (the iron will still be hot, so carry out this movement with great caution). In the following video you will see the step by step.
- With salt
In the following video you will see that salt can also help you to leave your iron free of stains, you only need your ironing board, a cloth and salt.
First the iron is heated a little. Lay the cloth on the board and apply a generous amount of salt. Pass the iron several times over the cloth, little by little you will see that the dark marks disappear. Turn off the iron and let it cool down before removing any remaining salt.
- With newspaper
In this last trick it is also necessary to be very careful, since the iron must be turned on. Lay the newspaper on the ironing board, sprinkle salt on top, and iron it until most of the salt is removed. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning to remove the salt.
Now that you know these homemade tricks, you can show off wrinkle-free clothes again. Remember that maintaining your iron is the key to keeping it in optimal condition.
