The first thing to do is define how you intend to freeze the fruit for later use. 

That’s because you can freeze the avocado crushed or in larger pieces. The difference is only in the practicality of removing the fruit from the freezer the way you intend to use it.

If you want to freeze the avocado in pieces, peel and cut the pulp to the desired size. Then arrange the pieces some distance apart on a platter or plate.

Take it to the freezer immediately so that the fruit does not oxidize. Leave it there until complete freezing. 

Then remove the already frozen pieces and place them inside a pot or plastic bag. So you can take out the pieces individually as needed. 

Another way to preserve avocados in the freezer is to make a paste. Use a fork or a mixer for this.

This way of freezing the fruit is especially suitable for when you have a large amount of avocado to preserve at once. 

After making the paste, place it in plastic bags or jars or in ice cube trays. 

In the first option, you defrost a larger amount to use at once. In the second case, it is possible to defrost just a little of the pulp for individual preparations, especially vitamins and smoothies. 

You can choose whether or not to use lemon in the avocado freezing process. But, as the fruit will freeze before starting the oxidation process, the lemon ends up being expendable. 

And one more important tip: after removing the avocado from the freezer, use it quickly. Don’t let it thaw in the fridge overnight.
