How to clean grout with bicarbonate (baking soda)

Step 1: In a container, mix one part bicarbonate to two parts water. The intention is to form a creamy paste. To give the mixture even greater cleaning power, add the juice of a lemon.

Step 2: With a toothbrush, pass this mixture over the dirty grout.

Step 3: Wait about 10 minutes and then scrub the grout with the same toothbrush.

Step 4: Remove excess mixture with clean water and dry with a dry cloth.

Another homemade recipe that promises to get rid of grout dirt is also made with bicarbonate, but with the addition of hydrogen peroxide instead of regular water.

Take note:

Step 1: In a container add one part of bicarbonate to two parts of hydrogen peroxide, volume 10. The amount will vary according to the size of the area that needs to be cleaned.

Step 2: Apply this paste on the grimy grout and wait about five minutes, the time necessary for the substances to act on the dirt.

Step 3: Scrub the grout with a toothbrush to completely remove the dirt.

Step 4: Finish by removing the excess paste with a wet cloth and then with a dry cloth.
