How to clean a mattress – get rid of the mites
Dust off
Start cleaning the mattress by removing the thickest and most superficial dust. For this, count on the help of the vacuum cleaner.
But be careful: use a thin tip or the one with a brush, that way you don’t damage the fibers of the mattress cover.
Get rid of mattress mites
Next, prepare a mixture to apply to the mattress. This mixture will help fight the proliferation of mites, disinfect the mattress and eliminate unpleasant odors. Write down everything you will need:
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- ½ cup of ethyl alcohol
- 2 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda
- Neutral detergent
Mix vinegar with alcohol. Then add the baking soda and add a few drops of detergent. Shake the mixture well.
Put it in a sprayer and you’re done. Now, just spray this mixture all over the mattress.
Rub the surface with a soft loofah and then dry it with a cloth. Do not over-wet the mattress.
